Classic Leather - specially crafted to tease out the character hidden deep in the leather and deliver a soft distressed look, our exclusive Classic Leather effortlessly elevates our chesterfields. This top-grain, aniline leather is infused with a special blend of organic oils and waxes that develops its natural texture. Gentle tumbling and buffing enhance its softness and suppleness whilst producing a subtle crackle effect. When stretched over the curves and contours of a Chesterfield, the oil and wax interact with the leather, causing the colour to migrate, creating lighter tones in the pulled areas that give a delicious, matured look. This leather has been designed to allow the natural variations of the hide to shine through. Therefore, evidence of natural marks and scarring may be seen, enhancing this leather's unique character and authenticity. A protective clear topcoat is applied that enhances wearability and gives a soft waxy feel with a gentle lustre. Hardwearing and family friendly, our Classic Leather can withstand the demands of everyday use while maintaining its outstanding appearance.
Frame Construction
The frame is made with 100% slowly kiln-dried, solid beech and birch wood that is screwed, glued and dowelled with additional corner braces for maximum strength.
Seat Base & Back
Wilbur has a fully sprung seat and back with plenty of no-sag, metal springs which are carefully tied together with silent wires to distribute your weight and deliver excellent support. Multiple layers of foam and extra padding provide a layer of outstanding comfort whilst every button is expertly hand-stitched with precise tension to form plush diamond patterns - a signature characteristic of the Chesterfield design.
Sofa Stands On
Handmade solid-wood feet in Walnut with a slightly distressed matt finish. Beehive-style to the front, with a tapered leg at the back. Removable if required.
Embellishments
Over 260 antiqued bronze studs, each one painstakingly tacked by hand to achieve the perfect spacing and look.

Our highly skilled craftsmen use only premium materials, from the solid wood frame to antiqued studs and hand-picked leather. With its distinctive scroll arms, neat proportions and fine detailing, every Wilbur takes at least sixty hours to create, and every piece embodies unmatched strength and outstanding comfort. Serpentine springs and specially developed plush padding seamlessly combine to deliver outstanding comfort. Classic touches like deep buttoning, well-spaced diamond tufting and a pleated, buttoned front fascia create an elegant aesthetic while subtle piping and antiqued bronze studs strike a harmonious balance. Finally, solid wood beehive feet lend a touch of informality to this distinctive, handsome sofa.
Delivery Information
Delivery: 4-6 weeks
We do our utmost to ensure we keep to our quoted delivery times, but as all our furniture is handmade to order (each piece takes at least fifty hours to make), timescales may vary occasionally. For a precise production time, please just ask when you are placing your order. We will keep you updated regularly as your new chesterfield is being made.
How Much Is Delivery?
Delivery is FREE to most of the UK mainland. However, we will need to make a small delivery charge to certain locations due to their remoteness. To view these locations and for more information, see our delivery page.
Simple Returns
We are sure you will love your new chesterfield as much as we do, but if for any reason you are not 100% happy, just return it. It’s as simple as that. You have 28 days to make up your mind, no problem. Zero risk for you and we will refund you in full within 7-14 working days. All we ask is that your item is in the same condition as it was when we dropped it off.
Our Simple Guarantee
Handmade to order, each sofa is a one-off commission created in the traditional heartland of England's furniture-making region and is covered by our “Simple Guarantee". Should any structural or manufacturing fault occur within 15 years of delivery, we will replace or repair your item free of charge.

The real beauty of making furniture by hand is the ability to customise it. Every sofa can be made in any size with any finish of leather, fabric or even a combination of both. Please be aware that although every effort has been made to represent the true colour of our sofas and chairs, colours can display differently from screen to screen. Please expect there to be some shade variation on the item you receive. We advise ordering a free swatch before purchase if in any doubt.
