Vintage Velvet offers a silky-smooth matte finish, with a multi-layered pile that creates a beautifully cloudy texture. A subtle printed design enhances its authentic aged character, giving the fabric a distinctive vintage charm. When the soft, plush pile catches the light, it reveals shifting shades and highlights that appear to glow from within. Luxuriously soft with an extra-deep pile, this velvet showcases colour exceptionally well, resulting in rich, vibrant tones and an irresistibly cosy feel. Treated with Stain Guard, it repels water-based liquids, giving you valuable time to handle any unexpected spills. With its combination of easy maintenance, spill resistance, and sumptuous softness, this velvet truly offers the best of both worlds.
Frame Construction
The frame is made with 100% slowly kiln-dried, solid hardwood that is screwed, glued and dowelled with additional corner braces for maximum strength.
Seat Base & Back
A fully sprung seat and back, reinforced with plenty of serpentine springs and high-quality soft reflex foam, provide excellent support, while multiple layers of plush padding ensure lasting shape and exceptional comfort.
Seat Cushions
Our premium comfort cushion combines multi-layered foam with an expertly engineered core that behaves like foam-formed springs, promoting excellent airflow and balanced support. Wrapped in superior-quality fibre, it gently compresses for indulgent comfort and instantly rebounds to maintain its plush, inviting shape.
Back Cushions
King-size back cushions tailored to hug the contours of the arms and seat cushions filled with premium fibre encased in a soft protective case.
Sofa Stands On
Handmade solid-wood feet finished in Dark Oak with a slightly distressed matt finish. Cottage Bun style to the front, with a tapered leg at the back. Removable if required.

The signature scroll arms have been lowered, and oversized, plump back cushions replace the classic deep buttoned back, providing sumptuous cushioning that both embraces and supports. The result is an extremely comfortable sofa with a clean, higher, box-like profile, while gentle curves and sculpted detailing in the arms and sides preserve the refined characteristics of the original. Subtle accents such as double piping and rustic, homely wooden feet add a timeless finish that feels both luxurious and inviting. Handmade in the heart of England, every Hetty is made-to-order by our small team of skilled upholsterers using only the finest materials, from the solid hardwood frame and premium reflex foam fillings to carefully selected velvet. Delivery Information
Delivery: 8-10 weeks
We do our utmost to ensure we keep to our quoted delivery times, but as all our furniture is handmade to order (each piece takes at least 60 hours to make), timescales may vary occasionally. For a precise production time, please just ask when you are placing your order. We will keep you updated regularly as your new chesterfield is being made.
How Much Is Delivery?
Delivery is FREE to most of the UK mainland. However, we will need to make a small delivery charge to certain locations due to their remoteness. To view these locations and for more information, see our delivery page.
Simple Returns
We are sure you will love your new chesterfield as much as we do, but if for any reason you are not 100% happy, just return it. It’s as simple as that. You have 28 days to make up your mind, no problem. Zero risk for you and we will refund you in full within 7-14 working days. All we ask is that your item is in the same condition as it was when we dropped it off.
Our Simple Guarantee
Handmade to order, each sofa is a one-off commission created in the traditional heartland of England's furniture-making region and is covered by our “Simple Guarantee". Should any structural or manufacturing fault occur within 15 years of delivery, we will replace or repair your item free of charge.

The real beauty of making furniture by hand is the ability to customise it. Every sofa can be made in any size with any finish of leather, fabric or even a combination of both. Colour Match
Please be aware that although every effort has been made to represent the true colour of our sofas and chairs, colours can display differently from screen to screen. Please expect there to be some shade variation on the item you receive. We advise ordering a free swatch before purchase if in any doubt.
