Upholstered In...
Vintage Velvet – It has a silky-smooth matte finish and a multi-layered pile. This produces a cloudy texture which is further enhanced with a subtle printed design, creating an authentic aged look. The vintage feel of this velvet sets it apart from the rest and when the light catches it, beautiful shades and highlights appear deep in the fabric. Soft and plush, our Vintage Velvet has an extra deep pile that shows colours exceedingly well, making it not only rich in tones but also very comfy. Treated with Stain Guard it repels water-based liquids, giving you more time to deal with any unexpected spills! You really do get the best of both worlds with this velvet - easy to clean, spill-resistant and super soft and luxurious.
Frame Construction
The frame is made with 100% slowly kiln-dried, solid beech and birch wood that is screwed, glued and dowelled with additional corner braces for maximum strength.
Seat Base & Back
A fully sprung seat and back using plenty of springs give great support whilst multiple layers of foam and extra padding mean no sagging and outstanding comfort. Each button is skilfully hand-stitched deep into place using just the right amount of tension to create soft and even padded diamond shapes, the hallmark of a chesterfield sofa.
Seat Cushions
Superior quality fibre wrapped around our unique composite of high grade foams creates our unique comfort blend cushions. Each has channels sewn inside to help prevent the fibre from moving around and is tried and tested to create what we believe is the perfect blend of comfort and longevity.
Sofa Stands On...
Handmade solid wood feet finished in matt Walnut. Front feet are beehive style and back feet are traditional curved legs – all removable if required.
Our Individuality
Darcy retains all the charm of a traditional chesterfield but has a certain flair derived from its French roots. Winged arms and neat proportions give an elegant twist to the iconic chesterfield design which takes on a whole new persona when dressed in our Vintage Velvet. A solid hardwood frame supports only the best components whilst deep, sumptuous cushions, plenty of springs and layers of soft padding deliver maximum comfort and strength. Each piece takes at least forty hours of handcrafting to make and enhanced details like our signature double piping and unique comfort blend cushions create a relaxed, vintage look that is unique and exclusive to you. A deeper seat also provides plenty of room to add scatter cushions, lounge back or sit with your feet tucked up. Perfect.
Delivery Information
Delivery: 10-12 weeks
We do our utmost to ensure we keep to our quoted delivery times, but as all our furniture is handmade to order (each piece takes at least 40 hours to make), timescales may vary occasionally. For a precise production time, please just ask when you are placing your order. We will keep you updated regularly as your new chesterfield is being made.
How Much Is Delivery?
Delivery is FREE to most of the UK mainland. However, we will need to make a small delivery charge to certain locations due to their remoteness. To view these locations and for more information, see our delivery page.
Simple Returns
We are sure you will love your new chesterfield as much as we do, but if for any reason you are not 100% happy, just return it. It’s as simple as that. You have 28 days to make up your mind, no problem. Zero risk for you and we will refund you in full within 7-14 working days. All we ask is that your item is in the same condition as it was when we dropped it off.
Our Simple Guarantee
Handmade to order, each sofa is a one-off commission created in the traditional heartland of England's furniture-making region and is covered by our “Simple Guarantee". Should any structural or manufacturing fault occur within 15 years of delivery, we will replace or repair your item free of charge.

The real beauty of making furniture by hand is the ability to customise it. Every sofa can be made in any size with any finish of leather, fabric or even a combination of both. If you can’t find what you're looking for or have any specific requirements, give us a call and we will create it for you. Simple.
Colour Match
Please be aware that although every effort has been made to represent the true colour of our sofas and chairs, colours can display differently from screen to screen. Please expect there to be some shade variation on the item you receive. We advise ordering a free swatch before purchase if in any doubt.
