Vintage Leather - our signature Vintage Leather has been specially developed to create a genuine, weather-beaten, vintage look. This half-grain, semi-aniline leather is of the highest quality and is lightly brushed with a blend of oils and beeswax to enrich the natural characteristics of the hide and inject warmth and life into the leather. Hand-buffing and gentle tumbling further develop the natural cracks and textures of the hide, producing a subtle, distressed, matt finish. When pulled over the curves and contours of a chesterfield sofa, the leather gently stretches creating subtle variations. Natural shades and highlights appear on the leather’s surface enriching its natural character and giving a beautiful, lived-in look. This leather carries all its lived experience and proudly wears its scars and natural marks, creating a truly unique character that only improves with age, wearing in not wearing out.
Frame Construction
The frame is made with 100% slowly kiln-dried, solid beech and birch wood that is screwed, glued and dowelled with additional corner braces for maximum strength.
Seat Base & Back
This Chesterfield features a generously sprung seat base and back, providing excellent support. Its abundance of springs, along with multiple foam layers and added padding, ensure great comfort and no sagging. Every button is expertly hand-stitched with just the right tension to create plush diamond patterns - a signature characteristic of the Chesterfield design.
Seat Cushion
Superior quality fibre wrapped around our unique composite of high grade foams creates our unique comfort blend cushions. Each has a luxury, high-density foam core wrapped in an outer foam jacket, encased in a specially developed fibre wrap. They offer the ideal combination of feather-like softness, resilience and stability ensuring enduring comfort. Tested and proven, we believe this is the ultimate blend of comfort and longevity.
Sofa Stands On
Exclusive hand-turned wooden legs finished in dark mahogany with brushed metal castors - removable if required.
Embellishments
Over 300 antiqued bronze studs, each one painstakingly tacked by hand to achieve the perfect spacing and look.

Handmade in the heart of England’s furniture quarter, each Alfred is made exclusively for you. From the handmade solid wood frame to the antiqued studs and carefully selected leather, our skilled craftsmen only use the finest materials. Each piece takes at least sixty hours of handcrafting where plenty of serpentine springs, layers of soft padding and deep sumptuous cushions all combine to give exceptional strength and outstanding comfort. Designed to be bigger and better, Alfred has an extra deep seat with plenty of room to accommodate long legs, add scatter cushions, or sit with your feet tucked up. The deep buttoning and beautifully balanced diamond tufting, which is more spaced apart than conventional tufting, produce a more relaxed look. Subtle piping and antiqued bronze studs complement each other giving perfect balance whilst brushed metal castors elevate Alfred to a more prestigious position.
Delivery Information
Delivery: 4-6 weeks
We do our utmost to ensure we keep to our quoted delivery times, but as all our furniture is handmade to order (each piece takes at least 60 hours to make), timescales may vary occasionally. For a precise production time, please just ask when you are placing your order. We will keep you updated regularly as your new chesterfield is being made.
How Much Is Delivery?
Delivery is FREE to most of the UK mainland. However, we will need to make a small delivery charge to certain locations due to their remoteness. To view these locations and for more information, see our delivery page.
Simple Returns
We are sure you will love your new chesterfield as much as we do, but if for any reason you are not 100% happy, just return it. It’s as simple as that. You have 28 days to make up your mind, no problem. Zero risk for you and we will refund you in full within 7-14 working days. All we ask is that your item is in the same condition as it was when we dropped it off.
Our Simple Guarantee
Handmade to order, each sofa is a one-off commission created in the traditional heartland of England's furniture-making region and is covered by our “Simple Guarantee". Should any structural or manufacturing fault occur within 15 years of delivery, we will replace or repair your item free of charge.

The real beauty of making furniture by hand is the ability to customise it. Every sofa can be made in any size with any finish of leather, fabric or even a combination of both. Colour Match
Please be aware that although every effort has been made to represent the true colour of our sofas and chairs, colours can display differently from screen to screen. Please expect there to be some shade variation on the item you receive. We advise ordering a free swatch before purchase if in any doubt.
